Established by the Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA) in 1986, the Florida Public Relations Education Foundation (FPREF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, charitable organization dedicated to the advancement of the public relations/communications profession within the state of Florida.
Since 2000, FPREF has invested more than $93,000 in the professional development and education of public relations and communications students and professionals.
Student Scholarships
To support the professional development of students studying to enter the public relations or communications profession, the FPREF awards two student scholarships annually — Dr. Bob Davis, APR, CPRC, Scholarship and Dr. Jay Rayburn, APR, CPRC, Scholarship.
The scholarships honor two long-time public relations leaders and educators who made an indelible impact on the lives of college students and the public relations and communications profession.
Professional Credentialing Support
FPREF awards grants to support professionals who have successfully earned the Accredited in Public Relations (APR) designation from the Universal Accreditation Board or the Certified Public Relations Counselor (CPRC) designation from FPRA. The grants reimburse a portion of the testing fees.
Professional Development Support
FPREF supports programs to further the public relations and communications industry and, ultimately, help practitioners do their jobs better. This includes sponsorship of the annual Dillin Keynote Speaker at the PR & Comms Summit, assistance with programs related to leadership development, scholarships for the Joe Curley Rising Leader Award and scholarships for the LeadershipFPRA program.
Donors
FPREF is fully funded through private donations from generous individuals and organizations. Your tax-deductible gift supports the education and professional development of current and future public relations and communications practitioners in Florida.
Please consider becoming a member of our FPREF Sustainer Donor Program by providing a monthly donation or by making a one-time donation.
