Rising Leader Award

Rising Leader Award Program

The Joe Curley Rising Leader Award program is intended to identify and honor up-and-coming individual FPRA members who demonstrate emerging leadership traits along with dedicated active involvement in FPRA Chapter activities, programs, functions and events.

The goal of the award program is to help recognize personal dedication and engagement of members with two to five years of membership, and to help build a healthy leadership stream at the local chapter level.

About the Rising Leader Class

The recipient of the annual Joe Curley Rising Leader Award is selected from a Rising Leader Class of that year.

Membership into the Rising Leader Class is determined by chapter nomination. Each chapter selects one candidate to be part of the Class. All class members receive a $150 credit to be used for professional development.

Three scholarships are made available to members of the current year’s Rising Leader Class. One class member will receive a scholarship to participate in the current year’s LeadershipFPRA class and a $500 travel stipend. Two other class members receive scholarships to use toward earning their credentials.

The award decision and scholarship selection is determined by the Florida Public Relations Education Foundation.

Out of the class rises one Joe Curley Rising Leader Award recipient. This recipient also receives a $500 cash reward and a $1,000 FPRA state credit that can be used at his or her discretion for professional development seminars, workshops or the PR & Comms Summit
