Florida Public Relations Association Honors Top PR Work at 67th Annual Golden Image Awards
The Florida Public Relations Association celebrated the best in public relations at the Golden Image and Pinnacle Awards Gala held on August 6, 2024, at the Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay as part of the PR & Comms Summit, a 3-day communications and marketing conference.
The 67th annual Golden Image Awards recognized outstanding work in the field of public relations and communications across four divisions: Public Relations Programs, Collateral of Public Relations, Digital Tools of Public Relations, and Student Projects in Public Relations. This year's awards ceremony also included the inaugural Pinnacle Awards, a new program designed to recognize individual communicators, agencies, and teams making exceptional contributions to the field of public relations in Florida.
The Golden Image Awards recognized excellence through various awards, including Judges' Awards for outstanding return on investment, Judges' Creativity Awards for exceptional creativity, Awards of Distinction for high-scoring entries within each category, Golden Image Awards for the highest scoring entry in each category, Grand Golden Image Awards for the top entries in the Collateral of Public Relations division and the Digital Tools of Public Relations division, and the prestigious Dick Pope All Florida Golden Image Award for the top entry in the Public Relations Programs division.
Sachs Media, Inc. was honored with the Dick Pope All Florida Golden Image Award for their public affairs campaign to raise awareness about laws passed in Florida and Texas that censored social media. Their efforts helped bring attention to their client's fight against these restrictive laws in a case eventually heard by the U.S. Supreme Court.
In the Collateral of Public Relations division, Jacksonville Port Authority received a Grand Golden Image Award for their press release announcing the largest ship ever to call at Jaxport. In the Digital Tools of Public Relations division, TalkingParents won the Grand Golden Image Award for their webinar campaign focused on high conflict co-parenting.
The winners of the Pinnacle Awards were also announced during the ceremony. The Gold Pinnacle Award for Communicator of the Year was presented to Whitney Fike, who serves as regional communications manager for International Paper. SalterMitchell PR was honored with the Gold Pinnacle Award for Small Agency of the Year, and Sachs Media, Inc. received the Gold Pinnacle Award for Medium Agency of the Year. Other Gold Pinnacle winners included NAMI Sarasota & Manatee Counties for Nonprofit Team of the Year, Caldwell Trust Company for Corporate Team of the Year, and Southwest Florida Water Management District for Government Team of the Year.
Silver Pinnacle Awards were given to VP of Communications for Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County Marissa Gleockler, Communicator of the Year; Priority Marketing, Medium Agency of the Year; Beacon College Office of Communications, Nonprofit Team of the Year; Sotheby’s Realty, Corporate Team of the Year; and JEA Communications team, Public Involvement team for the Space Coast Transportation Organization and Sarasota County Government Communications Department for Government Teams of the Year.
